Don't bother... NO GUARANTEE. We purchased a car that had a new timing belt & service done by Aussi Auto (Have the invoice). A few weeks later, a rattling noise begun in the engine so we took the vehicle to our mechanic to inspect. mechanic found the bolts to the timing case had NOT been replaced or tightened correctly & subsequently had become loose. This could have caused major damage to the engine if it had not been attended to immediately. I contacted the management of Aussie Auto Caboolture & explained the problem. Although they admitted that the repair was originally done by a past employee, they failed to warrant the work & pay $114.50 repair cost. I followed up by calling the office & was told that management was busy & would return my call. To date I have not received that call or the money. I strongly recommend you go else were for professional guaranteed mechanical work.
We guarantee all our work, but when you receive a letter stating the issue demanding money for repairs carried out by someone else we are going to questionit. The correct process would of to contact me when car was in other workshop to let me know of problem. We have the right of first repair you see. I mean you don't go into Kmart and say my TV broke and Jo blogs said its stuffed and they just give you a new one....
Thank you Scott for your reply. I am not interested in a slinging match, but would like to point out that-
The letter sent was an explanation of the problem along with a request to cover the cost of repairs. This car now resides on the Gold Coast, and not expecting the problem to be a recall took it to our local reliable mechanic who explained & showed us the problem when the vehicle was picked up.
It was at this time that we remembered being told at the time of purchase that the timing belt had been replaced & we located your invoice. This is why you were not contacted prior or during the repairs.
Not sure how you get a similarity from car repairs to a new TV purchased at K Mart.
If you would like to pay $114.50 for the repairs, I will remove my comments.
