I've heard so much hype about this place so decided to check them out - what a letdown. The portion size was so petty considering their high prices, their chicken was pretty average, and their bibimbap were cold and bland. We had to sit outside in the cold next to the toilet too. meh.
One of the tastiest chicken KFC style I've ever tasted! We squeezed ourselves into a 6pm slot as they were pretty booked out.
Had the garlic fried chicken and spicy flavored, the bimbibap with brown rice, chips with poutine and grilled corn! All pretty good dishes.
We also had a bottle of Pinot Gris (can't remember the name) and it worked well with our meal.
Place is pretty small and can get squishy!
Chicken Institute is an attempt to introduce the beautiful Korean cuisine into the modern culinary world, by presenting some of the dishes in individual serving sizes.
The selection of the location of the store was just perfect, being at the fringe of Surry Hills with just enough space and seats (probably seating around 30 people) to cater for curious foodies out there, and then some. The restaurant has a slightly dark ambiance with graffiti-like wall arts filling the room to entertain those who are given the wall tables.
