Coogee Courtyard
Shop 1, 260 Coogee Bay Rd
Coogee, NSW, 2034
The Courtyard Cafè is down by Coogee beach across the road from the Coogee Bay hotel. They have a coffee counter at the front on Coogee bay rd, and a number of tables around it in the courtyard. We ordered at the counter, the guys working here were pretty friendly. Our coffee arrived pretty quick, The coffee was girdlers grind, a brand run by ex rugby league player Ryan Girdler. The coffee was actually pretty nice.
I was a bit perplexed that I did not receive a spoon with my acai bowl. I found one of the waitesses who then provided me with a spoon. Apart from not receiving the spoon, the acai bowl was nice. It was presented nicely and was a decent portion served with fresh fruit including banana, strawberry and blueberries. The acai bowl was also topped with a trail mix of nuts, seed, desicated coconut, raisins and goji berries. A good place to people watch, especially on a wrm day.
Visited for lunch after doing the coastal walk (Bondi to Coogee) on a Saturday with a group of three. We had two dogs with us and the wait staff said we were welcome to sit in the courtyard area, which was great. Really nice setup with cute succulents as table center pieces and brightly colored cushions on the chairs. The menu isn't super extensive but offers a good variety of lunch foods priced from $10-$20. We had a chicken turkish sandwich and a beef burger. All the food (and the coffee) was really nice. My only complaint is that whilst wait staff were very friendly they were also a little aloof... for example we were welcomed and then our waitress went and wiped down at least three other tables before bringing us our menus. I thought this was a little strange.... (we were there about 3pm so it wasn't super busy with lines of people waiting eagerly for those tables!). All in all, recommended and I would go back.
What an awesome cafe! You can sit and chill in a peaceful relaxed little Courtyard only 30 seconds from Coogee Beach and away from the hustle and bustle of the main road.. The food is amazing and has a great variety that is so different from the rest of Coogee. The baked eggs are to die for. The coffee is by Mecca Espresso ad always good. I love this place!
