I purchased online the following seafood from Morgan's which was picked up on Xmas Eve (2023).
2.5 kgs ocean king prawns, 5 sand crabs, 6 dozen Pacific oysters. Cost was around $450.
I'll cut to the chase, got home and opened the 2 boxes. Half the prawns were gone ng black, sand crabs mushy and most of the large claws had broken off, oysters slimy and stunk.
I rushed over to the Fish Market and replaced the products with fresh.
I emailed Morgan's, Nik response. I've used Morgan's on several occasions previously without a problem.
My advisor ce is not to order seafood as it is poorly packed and done days earlier.
Almost worst Morgans Seafood meals to date
My wife, older family and grand children used to go regularly but it has been off for the last 2 years. Went this afternoon 09-04-18 for take away. Gave the meals 3 out of 10. Fish - flathead , whiting and so called cod was just fair and passable.
The chips were horrible 2 out of 10 , calamari 3 out of 10. The oil that they were cooked in was evidently old and needed cleaning or new oil.
Oh for the Morgans of old when you always go a 7-8 out of 10 meals.
BEST Fish and Chip takeaway in the region by far. However I have found that their market fish are not priced competitively with other businesses in North Lakes where I live. You may be able to argue freshness however for $20/kg difference in some cases I struggle to continue to buy fresh fish from Morgans.
