Favourite neighbourhood old school Italian delicatessen selling a variety of plump olives, marinated vegetables, cured meats, cheeses, Italian breads and more. The best part is that you can order a freshly made roll; my combo of choice is prosciutto, semi dried tomato and bocconcini.
Note, to order you simply queue up at the deli counter. There isn't any formal queuing system and the nonnas won't think twice about pushing in so stay sharp to get the attention of one of the staff. They do get very busy here!
If you're looking for one of, if not, THE best Italian deli, you can't go past Raineri's. The business is now run by Joseph Raineri, 3rd generation of this family business, but inside this store time seems to have stopped. Raineri's offers a wide range of products: oils, pasta (both well known brands and the past they make), cheese, canned goods, cold meats, sweets, dried fruit, coffee, you name it, they have it! And it will taste nothing like in the supermarket.
