Rebel Sport
I needed to get a pair of boxing globes for training and I checked Amart and Rebel Sports. Amart had them on sale but Rebel was closer for me, So I went to Rebel in Bourke street. The shop is quite big with a large selection of items. It's actually way bigger than I thought it would be, which it was a great surprise. There, one of the guys that was working there offered to help me with the selection of the model and size that I needed and also showed me other otems that I would need for my training. They had no problems matching the price of the other shop and also check for other discounts available. I actually recommend this shop if you are interested in buying some sports items or just browsing.
This Rebel sport is surprisingly quite larger than it appears, especially for a store in the heart of the city. Although I feel it's mostly understaffed, I found myself having to go out of my way if I needed assistance. A great place for most of your general sporting needs, pricing is fair. When there is a sale, they tend to have good sales.
Rebel, well it's a rebel in the retail world - not caring about shop floor appearance, behaviour or presentation of staff or actually having any customers at all it would seem. On several occasions staff walked straight past me as I tried to gain their attention, I virtually had to step over boxes to get through to the fitting room, stock all over the place. The only time anyone helped me, I had to walk half naked out of a fitting room, ask a female staff member to pass me something, as I walked out of the fitting room, without any reason the same staff member took both items I planned to purchased out of my hand and put a sticker on them stating 'assisted by...' and her name. Interesting concept seeing she really didn't, strange though, if the staff are incentivised, you think they'd be a little bit more helpful. Apparently not.
