Rebel Sport
Recently moving its store from Westfield Bondi Junction's street level to the rooftop late this year (in 2015), this new Rebel Sport store doesn't seem to be as large and full-blown as it previously was in terms of large products. Busting through the top level of the centre and into the rooftop carpark area (accessible via newly installed escalators or the existing elevators), the store occupies a slightly smaller floor space with simple, non complicated layout with a lot of spaces in between.
The womens range are at the front as you come in, followed by the mens, sports equipments on the right, and shoes section at the back. The change rooms are right in the middle and the checkout register right next to the entrance.
The atmosphere is a little different than their usual stores, owing itself to a modern active living lifestyle it wants to pay homage to.
Substandard customer service.
In December 2014 I went in and asked the store staff if there was a store in Darwin as I wanted to send gift cards a couple of kids for Christmas. I was assured by one of the senior staff that there was one in Darwin, in fact "the highest turnover store in Australia" was the comment. I purchased two $100 cards and sent them. Now I am back in Darwin and took the kids the other day to get them some gear with the gift cards, only to find out that the store had closed down long before. The Bondi store management has refused to do anything about it. Thankfully the national finance department of Rebel is much more helpful. I will still shop at Rebel (outside of Darwin of course) but never at the Bondi store.
