Red Chilli Chatswood

This place is incredibly over priced considering their definition of authentic Sichuan food is to add more onion and chili. I appreciate chili is in their name, but that doesn't mean it should be 30% of the dish and smother the taste.

Small portions, expensive Sichuan food which is Chinese food + lots of chilli and pretty average service.
The decor is a strange modern version of a traditional tea house. I found it really hard to believe that there are more Red Chilli's around Sydney- it seems to be a semi franchise.
We were warming greeted at the entrance but then proceeded to wait a few minutes while I waited for them to see if there was a table available as we hadn't made a booking. When we walked inside there were at least 4 tables free- which made me wonder what the wait was for.
My hopes were high as there were many chinese people eating there which is usually a good indication of the authenticity of the food. ...read more
