The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre was the venue of the swimming, diving, water polo and synchronised swimming events during the Sydney 200 Olympic and Paralympic Game. It continues to host international, national, state and community competitions.
During the school holidays we run a variety of activities designed to keep the kids occupied including classes, games, water playground, water slide and rapid river ride.
I loved this place. It was always fun to go to. Had a couple years of swimming lessons here too! The whirlpool was awesome (and reasonbly safe). The grounds were clean most of the time. The bucket dropping over the playground was always good fun. The playground was pretty cool as well. Great for parties or just a day out.
I used to go here when I was in my late teens (when they first built the aquatic centre) and in my early 20s.
It's got a great kids section for anyone that has children, two olympic size pools, I loved the rapid river ride and the big inflatable obstacle raft they had out.
It was just a really fun place to be with your friends in the Summer.
I expected an olympic-sized pool with serious goggle-clad swimmers doing laps, but I'd heard from a couple of mum friends how great the facility is for kids.
I came here a week ago with a few girlfriends and our 13-14 month old toddlers after some beach plans fell through because of the crummy weather. Four days later, I was back. Needless to say, the toddler (and I) enjoyed it that much.
