A few months after my first visit to Tawandang for a group dinner, I decided to try their lunch specials on a weekday afternoon. It had the $9.50 for an entre, a main dish and a soft drink (or $12 with wine). The place was quite busy it had some occasional queues for seats.
It was therefore understandable that the food took a while to arrive at tables. I had the express lunch with wine which entailed a main, entree and wine for $12. The penang curry was great but I would have liked more vegetables with it. Spring roll was tasty and wine was reasonable quality considering the price. Overall an enjoyable experience. This place gets busy at lunchtimes so I recommend you get there at 12 noon to get a table.
I am very pleased with the arrival of Tawandang. Originated from its motherland, this famous Thai restaurant boasts its German influence on its dishes and is certainly one factor that gives the food the twists they need for the better.
