The Mentone

Wasn't bad. Easy to make a booking. Got seated straight away. Asked for a drink with no ice, got ice. Food was ok, but nothing special. The staff were good, polite and active in serving. The manager was good, came over and spoke to us. Probably won't return as it wasn't too special. .

Really poor, slow service when last we went. The waitress had no knowledge of any of the food she was serving, nor did she seem to care to. My fish and chips were nasty- the fish was so drippy with grease that it utterly saturated the chips. Almost completely inedible. My husband's "Wagyu" burger was way undersized and burnt to a crisp. Not normally a complainer, he had to bring this piece of ash on a bun to someone's attention. The waitress leaned down to get a better look and said "Oh it's because it's char-grilled!" and that was that. She wandered off and did not even come back to collect the payment! We had to take it to the counter and find someone else to help us. Last time these four diners will go there.

A great pub no matter who you are or when you go! Casual, relxaed dining during the weeks, gorgeous place for a few quiet drinks on a Sunday session. Wednesday & Saturdays stay open a little bit later for the younger generation but it is always fabulous music and they have excellent staff that keep things well behaved! Great Mentone establishment

Great service and wonderfully relaxing for those with any food allergies, it is taken very seriously and appears on your bill, so you know they get it! It is about time restaurants etc took a life threatening allergy seriously - well done Mentone Hotel.
