I love this place, I've never been to Japan, but Tokkuri gives me a bit of an idea as to what it must be like. I love raw fish, so the sushi and sashimi always win me over. Popcorn prawns are fab. Great sake and warm, polite service, the Japanese staff are always polite. It's got nice decor too, with colourful mats/cushions, I assume this fabric is Japanese. Parking on the street or two hours free in the Stockland car park underneath. Good for small or larger groups.

I discovered this place through my hair colourist after we both raved on about Sake Restaurant in The Rocks. She told me how Tokkuri offers a similar version of some of our favourite dishes at Sake - the jalapeño kingfish, popcorn prawns and the miso cod.

Tokkuri offers a more traditional Japanese menu than Sake, but their entree menu leans toward fusion. I love that you can get some of the favourite dishes as lunch sets, and the sashimi is always fresh.

I generally try to adhere to the no sashimi policy as a pregnant woman, but when we come here in a group and the sashimi platter is ordered, I just can't resist a piece... or five.

I've come here for lunch on several occasions, and they are generally pretty quiet at lunchtimes, even on a weekend. The restaurant is fairly big, they offer high chairs, and service is pretty good.

I love the neighbourhood feel of this restaurant. It's not cheap, but it's definitely not pretentious.

Came here for an impromptu lunch with the family and really loved it. Super fresh ingredients and really interesting menu items. Popcorn prawns, miso cod, teriyaki salmon, everything was delicious. They are a sister restaurant of Sake but in a more relaxed setting. I will definitely be back!

They're not a sister restaurant of Sake in The Rocks. I believe they just "took inspiration" from some of Sake's popular menu items. :)
