Have been here a couple of times now, the first time was about 3 years ago, and that was a much better experience than when I went last week, the food is pretty nice, simple but tasty, the service needs a bit of work though, a bit slow, and they forgot my drink and our entrees, I don't mind the idea of an drummer but they need to either only play for a little while and then leave or stay in the corner and play softly, it was too loud and you can't have a conversation. It could be a really good restaurant if it had a facelift and some better wait staff.
I have such a crush on Africa so came here with excitement. Food was good, really good beef stew and liked the chapatti, but unfortunately that's all really to love. Service was kinda slow. they brought our main before our entree and the one with the drums is so loud. To the point you can barely hear the person next to you. I'll excuse it all because I do have such a crush on Africa, but not sure I'll be rushing back soon...
Not sure where to start....what a disappointment...tables were crammed together and service, although done with a smile, wasn't up to scratch. They seemed surprised when we ordered the banquet and then we had to wait 70 minutes for the first lot of food to come out. They played the bongos really loudly constantly throughout the night, breaking every now and then for 10 minutes and if not being able to hear each other across the table wasn't bad enough, the bongo player then began to pressure us to buy the CD, ie standing over our table waving it in our faces. Food was good although very pricey. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not.
