BIO
Drummer/percussionist Alastair McGrath-Kerr is recognised as one of Australia's leading exponents of Brazilian percussion and jazz drumming. He studied under legendary teacher Col Hoorweg at the Canberra School of Music, and is currently a PhD candidate at the Victorian College of the Arts. Alastair has given masterclasses and workshops across Australia, and teaches at some of Melbourne's leading institutions.
TEACHING INFORMATION:
I?m an experienced and fully qualified teacher, with over 15 years teaching experience, and 15+ years experience as a professional musician. I have guided students through exams (AMEB and St Cecilia), as well as helping students gain entry to tertiary courses (ANU, VCA, Monash, NMIT), and others still have continued lessons just for the love of music.
