I've used Alter It Richmond for clothing alterations for years & landed here after looking online to see what time they open today, as I've 3 formal dresses & 1 top that I need altered & will be taking them in this morning. Have always been happy with their work and have no hesitation in recommending them. I predominantly use their services for trouser hems.
Do not go here. Had a pair of $350 suit pants tapered on both legs and now they are ruined. The first time I couldn't even see the difference from how they originally were. When they were altered for the second time they were tighter than what the seamstress had pinned them. I received a call from them blaming it all on me - incorrect - they are responsible for their sewing ability! Very poor customer service.
We are sorry that you believe that you experienced poor customer service and know that since your review (which was the first we knew of your dissatisfaction) we have re-sewn your pants to your satisfaction and your pants are not ruined.
Your original fitting was done to your instructions and your pants were sewn to the size agreed by you during the fitting. When the pants were returned to you, you decided that you wanted them more tapered so we fitted you again at no charge. During that fitting you asked for the pants to be made even tighter than recommended by our experienced tailor. Your pants were re-sewn to your revised specifications at no charge. ...read more
