Andrew (boy) Charlton Swimming Pool

A world away from your office... But only a five minute walk from the CBD

Andrew (Boy) Charlton Swimming Pool is a Sydney icon where people have been getting fit or escaping the heat since the early 1900s.
Located on the shores of Woolloomooloo Bay in Sydney Harbour near the Royal Botanic Gardens it's a perfect escape from the CBD.
As well as a heated 50m Olympic pool other amenities include a shaded learners pool, cafe, kiosk and conference/function area.

Bringing sexy back to the business of lap swimming. This inner-city pool sparkles in its prime position with the green of the The Domain on one side and the blue of sleek Woolloomooloo Wharf on the other. People watch at the cafe that does great post-swim eggs

Great all round outdoor pool. Clean, good parking availability, cafe, view and great if you are meeting friends with kids.

Great pool with a great view.
I couldn't get over the view of the Navy ships whilst I was swimming! To breathe on one side while swimming and see those great big ships really made me realise that only in Sydney could such a wonderful pool exist!

I often swim at the Boy Charlton pool on my way into work. It has great facilities for showering afterwards and is only a short walk from the CBD. There's kick boards available for free use and you're always safe with life guards patrolling (just in case you can't swim).
Another option for weak swimmers is the smaller pool. It's under shade so safe for the kids too.

The only problem with the pool is the taste of the water. People who often swim in other pools will realise the bitter taste that stays in your nostrils and on your skin all day. Still, a small price to pay in order to swim in one of the greatest pools in the world.

This is a great pool to visit, specially on a hot summers day. Can get very busy during peak season. Facilities are all new, pool is in a stunning location. Offers a kiosk as well as restaraunt - both a little pricey but you have to expect that being inner city. Change room's are top notch with hair dryers and baby change room's.

I used to be a real fan of this pool. While it is relatively easy to park and there is a great pool for kids and a 50 m pool, in the last year it feels as if the cleanliness of the pool is slipping.
