The Astor Grill has always been a fouritte restaurant, though went down hill a little bit at the beginning or January 2008.
Thankfully after it closed its doors, John Caire, the original owner and inventor of the famous Steak Astor, re-opened it's doors. So what better way to have a meal than by the Gentleman who opened it originally. I know it will be a regular eatery for myself and my friends.
The Astor Grill is an institution in Tasmania and many Hobartians have fond memoires of dining at the Astor Grill. It is wih regret that the Astor as we know it closes it's doors at the end of March 2008. Many people are rushing to dine there one last time before the Astor is reinvented as something new in the resturant scene in Hobart. I for one am taking a group there one last time to enjoy the favourites such as crayfish pate, seafood chowder and of course an Astor steak......
