Thank you Advance Auto Center ! I was referred by a family friend & glad I went here. I've been to lots of places only to find they exaggerate the problem. These guys were honest and very helpful. Glad to see there are still some truthful and sincere people out there.
I'm not in the habit of writing reviews, but think others should be warned of these them. Took my car for a safety check, where I was told my break master needed fixing, among many things. The staff showed me the apparent leak, telling me it would cost about$650 to fix. Additionally, my engine mount needed fixing and I needed a headlight and number plate light. All up it was going to be around $1000. They then told me, instead of replacing my break master they could 'recondition' it for half the price. I was obviously relieved at this lower price. However, I was dubious - particularly as they kept going on to the other staff member in the shop about not keeping the nice lady waiting, telling me my breaks might fail. On getting a second and third opinion, turns out my broken engine mount was the only thing broken - a $200 job. The oil from that was what this staff member showed me as the ' broken' break master. Took my car in to get the aircon re-gassed, was quoted about 130, got the bill for about 380. Said they had to do the extra work to fix it properly. Aircon started playing up next day, they wouldn't fix it and denied they caused any problems. It now comes on without the ignition even being on. They also said car had another problem they could fix for $1500-3000, took it somewhere else for $500. Will never ever go back.
