Was very pleased with the service. Friendly staff to greet you when you walk in everything sorted efficiently and any questions were answered straight away. Was very pleased with the car. There was an incident where one of the windscreen wipers came apart slightly in strong winds so I took the car back and it was fixed straight away. The car is also had checks every 3 weeks which I think gives good peace of mind. Overall good service and would definitely use them again.

Absolute bad experience, the car broke down after 1 hour and left me in the middle of an intersection. Got towed back to the depot and was ensured I would get a full refund. Got the bond back after 2 weeks and surprisingly I was charged $74 in bank and cancellation fees. A whole day wasted and I was charged for it...

Sadly you opted to cancel the contract incurring cancellation fees, rather than accept the replacement vehicle offered. A good tip to remember is that a binding contract will almost always incur a cost to you if you are the cancelling party. You may not know that we service our rental vehicles every 10,000kms and in addition to this request the vehicles are returned to the hire depot every 3 weeks for a safety check. Despite our best endeavours to ensure reliability, occasionally breakdowns do occur and it was extremely unfortunate that your day was inconvenienced. Regards Backpacker Car Rentals.
Hi Antonio, when the car was towed back to our depot it was started up and driven off the truck and was running fine with no obvious mechanical failure. Then the car was workshop checked where no fault was found. This is a fact. We've really no idea what could have been the issue for you, but very disappointing both ways as it cost us a tow for no apparent reason. Regards Backpacker Car Rentals.
