Bamboo Dumpling Bar
I came here with a big group of people and all of my table decided to go for the banquet. So much food is given when you order the banquet at such a cheap price! I ordered the Thursday special and got BBQ pork with greens and rice. It was delicious for such a cheap price. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something yummy to eat really quick.
Love the concept of this cute, casual bar/restaurant. We had a larger group so we had the $24.50 banquet which had a nice selection of food. My favourite was the pork and chive dumplings. I enjoyed the jam jar cocktails which looked quite quirky and my apple flavoured drink was made with freshly squeezed apple juice. The let down was the service. I could not believe how rude the restaurant staff were. We all felt like we had done something to annoy them from the moment we sat down and spoke to us with attitude. I don't think i even saw the staff smile the whole time with the exception with the staff at the bar who was friendly.
Intimate little spot, with fun decor. I too enjoyed the hanging birdcages.
Although not the ultimate dining experience in the area, for a casual eatery I think it ticks the boxes.
Lunch specials each day at approx $10, I tucked into the soy chicken, Choy and rice (Wednesday deal) Chicken was cooked reasonably well, could've done with a bit more sauce. I also shared a spring roll, which didn't send the tastes buds into overdrive or anything special.
Selection of wine is pretty standard too. But for a quick meal for those dumpling and Asian style cravings, I'd go again.
nice little place for lunch - go for the dumplings, don't bother with rest. Chicken and chestnut was the winner. I have to say, as is the case with all dumpling meals, I still left feeling hungry yet slightly bloated. That's likely to be a problem with my digestive system.
