A great spot for lunch on a Sunny day, it is spacious which is great for groups & also families and kids. There is a big selection of drinks, especially beers available as well as a range of food including DIY salads. The ribs sounded tempting & came out looking luscious with a good amount of sauce. The flavour was not the best for me - had too much of a tang & the meat a little dry. The sausage platter had 5 types of sausages and came with sauerkraut & mash. This was nice as it was nice to try a variety & the sausages were all quite lean & not overly salty. The chicken parmigiana looked impressive but was again a little dry. DIY salad was huge! And was great to share and something lighter compared with the meaty dishes. Cheese burger & schnitzel for the kids are a good size with plenty of chips. The pretzels were yummy especially with butter, served warm with a crusty outside & fluffy inside. Overall an enjoyable meal.
I'm not a beer drinker so perhaps not the best place for me to go - but not much choice at the Entertainment Quarter.
Wines average quality and above average prices.
Good honest food, especially if you like Germanic fare; considering it's a glorified "sausage in a bun" is not great value for money.
Staff have always been friendly and helpful.
We came for an impromptu lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were impressed to see that they had free face painting for kids which was great. The menu is varied and good value. The kids menu is incredible value at $6. My daughter insisted on watching everyone else getting their faces painted and the staff came over to let us know that her lunch was ready and would we like them to keep it warm for her which I thought was a lovely touch. I had the salt and pepper squid which was a nice size and served with a lovely aioli. My husband had a pork roll which was also delicious. I would definitely come back!
