Recently I went to Beach Street Vet for a routine checkup for both my animals. I was told my dog has a bowl infection at the time. I accept this answer from the vet. However, I was then told by the vet my dog has a spinal problem. Then the vet recommended a place that specialises in this area. I went there after the vet’s recommendation and I had my doubts. I decided to seek an independent opinion from another vet and was told the complete opposite. They did a spinal test and examination and everything comeback negative. There is nothing wrong with the dog’s spine. The vet also told me my dog wouldn’t be jumping up onto the couch, bed and chasing the cat around. All he had was an upset bowel infection, nothing more! Really, really disappointed in Beach Street Vet. I trusted them to look after my animals, as I have been going too this vet since 2004 back in the early days. 700$ later, my cat was stitched up just fine (She had been attacked and cut open by a dog). However a two hour wait after our appointment time for our check up and the Vet didnt even look at her. She was very stressed while waiting. Though many people that arrived after us had been seen before us.. She also came home with fleas after her operation, which she has never had since we adopted her two years ago. A cat with a cone and fleas for the first time. Not fantastic.
Really, really happy with this veterinary clinic. Experienced staff really care for your pets. After taking our dog to three different vets we stumbled upon Beach Street through the True Local reviews. This vet picked up our dog's underlying problem immediately, where the three other vets just guessed and advised our dog was epileptic. Our dog eventually lost an eye due to glaucoma being picked up too late for treatment, but thanks to Beach Street she is alive and well. Now the whole fam takes their cats and dogs there - couldn't be happier.
Started taking my dogs to this 2 years ago and found the service excellent. Recently they have upgraded their offices and it seems that they have lost focus on what their job is. They are no longer the small local vet.
Sure every business should make money but not at the expense of customer service.
Am on the lookout again for another vet!
