Like david, i'm a bottom-line man. Prior to planting my sunflowers into barley stubble in early january I applied 4l/ha rum with glyphosate knockdown, then 200mls rum / 25kg seed dressing for my sunflowers and sorghum, then a further 3l/ha of rum foliar application when the crop was knee high. I saw a benefit within 3 days - in fact, the first 2 rows of sunflowers nearest the highway were being pilfered by light-fingered tourists! Its been over 2 years since i used any granular fertiliser but our soil tests ok for nutrients. Since switching to rum i've outlaid about $14,000 where it would have cost me around $40,000 using granulars. Being so close to two major highways i know what its like to have about 5000 critics drive past my crops every day, but since using the rum the 'roadside farmers' have quietened down and the locals have been quite loud in their praise for the way our crops are looking now. Here's my experience with the product via results from a 2 year RUM / urea comparison on a wheat crop. Briefly, I used the same 17ha paddock in both years, splitting it in half for RUM and urea then reversing it the following year.
