Better Building Prices

I had really bad experience with BBP. All in all I lost approx 8 months and $ 7450.00 dollars. What happen:
1. Was never told that I need to pay extra $ 2530.00 before go ahead with builders quotations
2. Price from BBP builder where approx 20 % higher then the builder approached by myself and I had wait nearly 3 months to get BBP builders quote
3. When I approached BBP Perth they said they can refund all after I get council approved drawings.
4. Council approval came afetr 6 months because the drawing done by BBP pointed designer were not in line with city of swan requirenets.

The following is a warning on using the services of BPP. They promise the world and deliver nothing. Our recent experience with BPP is that they will continue to quote that they will save you lots of money based on ?their volume buying power?. What we found was they charge a premium price for their service with a promise that if they do not ?better the quotes? you can obtain from any builder directly by better than $30,000 they will reimburse most of that charge. Prior to us paying the service charge they were discussing this on a daily basis and were like your ?best friend?.

We obtained quotes from 3 builders that were all less (some significantly) than the BPP quote, so we asked to be reimbursed. 6 months later we are still waiting and not a single response from BPP.

So my recommendation is give BPP a wide berth and do not listen to anything they say.

Give this company a miss they made all sorts of promises in regards to helping build our new home but actually turned out to be nothing but hard work. In the process they promised refunds if we were to have our house deign thru them which turned into a nightmare and had to be re design by the builder. They also charged a $2500.00 brokerage fee if we went with their builder which was the builder we wanted to use anyway how ever they simply put themselves in the middle to get a commission.

Please do yourself a favour and give Better Building Prices (BBP) a miss if you live in WA or like your money doing something constructive towards your new home. We dealt with BBP last year and found them to initially tick all the boxes but once we paid the money for them get down to business they became very one sided and couldn't even get close to delivering to promise. They only pushed one builder in WA and didn't obtain any other builders quotes as they said they would. Instead we had to do all the running around to get quotes for them to beat. Then when you do send them the quotes with the price breakdown whited out and only the final price they demand you send the breakdown so they can see where the saving were made (which I did send through after they confirmed they would not pass it on to their one and only WA builder). We gave BBP a go (after a few reservations), but realised that this is the age of the internet so checked out their website & called them up. Don't let the fact that they haven't spent hundreds of thousands of $$ on advertising be the reason you don't try them. They have loads of customers going through them, but only a handful have left reviews. The only reason I left a review is bcoz I am so impressed with BBP & couldn't stand to see the small number of people who bagged them- even tho they haven't even signed up with them -therefor don't even know what they're really on about! THEIR LOSS-LITERALLY-thousands!!
