This is one of the unique family run businesses that forms the mountains communities. For a small hardware store the range of products is exceptional. As soon you go in, someone will be there to help you. Ask the right person and he'll know pretty much everything (locals know who to ask). There's a high chance they have the unusual product you're after, and it might be in one of the many sheds spread throughout the area. It might be a bit inconvenient to go to a shed up the road but you will probably walk the same distance through the aisles at Bunnings. Yes prices are higher, it's a local business and should not be compared to the massive hardware chains.

I recently moved to Blackheath and have found everyone at Mitre 10 to be extraordinarily helpful. They are friendly, knowledgable and always willing to take the time to help you find what you need. They have even provided me with some guidance on Trades people in the area to help with home renovations. They also have a huge range of things for a smaller store.

They were unhelpful - They wanted to close early and weren't interested in helping me out - I was over charged on my purchase. Very hard to support local business when they are unhelpful, want to over charge you and not be open when they are supposed to. Poor service
