Boathouse The
The relaxed ambiance of a river view, the aromas of a wood fired pizza oven, the crackling of an open fire, the waft of good coffee and the sight and sound of people tucking into some fabulous food and wine all combine to give you the feeling that dining at The Boathouse is going to be a great experience. The transformation from old kiosk on the edge of the river to sleek restaurant with a deliberate ‘boathouse’ feel has occurred with a minimum of fuss. Head chef Melissa Biczo prepares seasonal and produce driven dishes at reasonable prices. Be sure to book on weekends.

I was here on the weekend with some of my friends for morning breakfast, have been here a few times but not for breakfast. I opted for the rhubard pancake which was $15 with a hot chocolate to wash tat down for $4. The wait was a little longer than anticipated, but then again it was the long weekend and they probably had more diners than usual. The staff were friendly and was able to find us a table for a group of 6, little over 15 minutes wait which was ok. The weather was just lovely which made the surrounding atmosphere and view just brilliant. This is a great spot for brunch or simply a drink or snack with friends. Thumbs up for this location!
Went to this restaurant for a birthday dinner. Waited for 20 minutes before anyone approached us at table. Meals came reasonably promptly once ordered but one was missing. The waitress said that it wouldn't be long. Those who had received a meal began eating but we were all finished and the fifth meal never arrived. The quality of the food served was just satisfactory. The drinks were over-priced. When we complained, explaining that the person whose birthday it was had not eaten at all, a 10% discount was offered. The manager blamed 'a technical problem'. Surcharge on credit card was dropped once we complained. Overall this restaurant is not attuned to customer service and seemed to be staffed by individuals who were inexperienced. Very, very disappointing.
Had a gorgeous time with my family there for lunch. We were given a table outside immediately, as well as a high chair.
We were in line to order, which seemed a little long, so staff opened up the extra register outside. Staff was very friendly.
Food arrived quite quickly.
However drinks did arrive after the food.
My kids loved their 'popcorn' style chicken and the child were tasty.
I had the pumpkin/feta pizza which was presented beautifully in a wooden board and was really nice. It only had a small amount of feta, more would have been nice :-)
My husband had the Wagyu beef burger, which was also presented beautifully. He ordered medium and he said he was delicious.
We'll definitely return!
What a disgrace, just tried to book for 2 people tomorrow night being Valentines day, and they wanted a deposit paid over the phone by credit card. I am a local and will never attemp to go there again on principle alone. i have now booked elasewhere and no such request was made. Boathouse must be struggling. Not worth a rating as they clearly have no trust in their customer base.
