While the modern Tasmanian wine industry is young in terms of years established, Bream Creek can be considered as one of the industry?s pioneers. The vineyard at Bream Creek ?7.5 hectares in size ? was planted in the early 1970s, making it one of the earliest commercial vineyards planted in Tasmania. The Bream Creek brand was established by leading Tasmanian vigneron Fred Peacock back in 1990, at a time when there were less than 20 commercial wineries in the entire state.

Over the past 25 years, from when the modern Tasmanian wine industry was in its infancy, wines produced by Fred from the 40 year old vineyard have been consistent award winners (20 trophies and over 420 show medals) and have an enviable reputation for consistency and reliability, helping to showcase Tasmanian wines to Australia and the rest of the world.

While there is no cellar door at the vineyard, the award award winning wines from Bream Creek Vineyard are available for tasting at both the Dunalley Waterfront Cafe and also Vines and Designs at Copping (both minutes from the vineyard), as well as at Blue Eye Restaurant at Salamanca, Hobart.
