Bungalow 8
Bungalow 8 on King Street Wharf, is a place to unwind during a work lunch or for after work drinks by the beautiful view of the water. The perfect place to enjoy a Sydney summer afternoon, Bungalow 8 has indoor and outdoor seating and offers diners a relaxed seafood bistro. The major draw card is all you can eat mussels on Tuesday nights, but due to its popularity it is advised to book ahead.
During the evening the space becomes a slick bar and leading venue.

Food gone off, drinks very expensive.
We used to love going to Bungalow 8, at the end of King street Wharf. Admittedly, not been since the rest of Barangaroo opened up. Went last night and was not good and will not return.
The food menu is ok, but nothing to write home about. The burger I had was rather overcooked. The other items were on the pricey side for what they were, and the "starter" came out after we were 1/2 way through the main. Then there was the wine.... You can only see what they have on the ap, but 1) you can't then use that to order to the table, nor does the ap show you the prices for any bottles (only a per glass then a + sign). Nothing really stood out for me at our experience at Bungalow 8. We had a lovely spot outside in the sun but the food was quite average (just had share platter nibbles) and the drinks were good. Overall a nice experience but I can't say there's anything that pulls me back there.
While Bungalow 8 is popular at night – its also a great location for a long lunch date.
Location is amazing at King Street Wharf right next to water – and the islander décor with cabanas really completes the look & ambience.
Food options are a bit random – but it does provide all your friends with various options. You can get Asian dumplings, Mexican Tacos, Jamacian Jerk Chicken, burgers, steaks, salads and a variety of other things. So there is no one theme to the cuisine.
My friends and I had a few different things:
- Jerk Chicken with coconut rice : small serving size, but very yummy. Recommended
- Crispy Squid Salad : a bit spicy. Generous portion size
- Salmon Nicoise : took a while to come, but worth the wait. Generous size. Too much lettuce though. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The jack potatoes were delicious.
Will definitely be back for another long lunch soon.
