Today was one of those days. Hubby was busy, and he had sent me to go and get nuts and bolts and a disc grinder. To start with, I hate going to Bunnings if the shopping is not for myself. I know the tool shop back to front as it is where I get most of my equipment from for my pyrography. I fortified my resolve with a double expresso before I ventured into isle 6 and isle 7 to find these bolts and nuts. That is when I ran into Carol, a lovely lady who was unpacking boxes. I approached her with a "...excuse me I'm doing shopping for my hubby ..." and that is when my day became much, much less mundane. Carol opened boxes, counted out nuts and bolts on her knees, bending down, looking for things and just being charming and lovely while she assisted me. Carol, thank you for shortening my shopping trip with at least 1 hour and for not judging me when I kept on talking about "screws" for the bolts instead of "nuts". Your product knowledge is impressive. Thank you!
I like Bunnings: open forever, the garden area is great, providing you give yourself some time to look. It contains a very wide variety of different potting mixes for gardenias, roses or camelias & azaleas as well as excellent additives for soil improvement like perlite, clay breakers or sphagnum moss. They sell pebbles, quartz & hard wood step additions which are terrific for modern home gardens where time for maintenance is hard to find.
I have a cottage garden & I've used Bunnings over the past 6 months to improve my soil, purchasing a cheap & unbelievably easy to use soil test kit; an inexpensive & eye catching bird bath, herbs, lettuces, marigolds and tea roses. If one of the staff doesn't know an answer to a question they don't "pretend they know" ...read more
I found a male assistant to help me at Bunnings Cannon Hill but became very impatient after he left me 3 times to help interupting customers. Then I explained what happened to a female assistant at the self service check out to be told "You will have to find someone in that area to help you". Assistants should be given skills to deal with these situations. Lost me Bunnings - for good.
visited store last week to buy an outdoor lounge setting, met a guy called Geoff who has to be the most helpful man ever..... the store had no settings but he had time & patience to find one within a reasonable distance & asked them to keep it for me until I arrived ??
thank you Geoff...very impressive ????
Popped into Bunnings before work (ten past seven in the morning) to grab some painting supplies, had to wait 10 minutes to be pay for the products after staring at staff. Not sure why they have Self-Service Checkouts if they are not open when the store opens. If they are under-staffed, possibly other staff or the store greeter could stand near the self-service checkouts.
