I ordered a lamb souvlaki from here today for the first time going there. Unfortunately the lamb in the souvlaki was mostly gristle, making it a very unpleasant experience. i would say around half of the meat inside was inedible - large chunks of tough fat and sinew. I won't be going back.
I travelled 30 minutes because you offer gluten free. I was so annoyed to get home with my order only to find your staff couldn't complete my order fully and forgot half the gluten free order. They were happy to charge me for a full order but didn't give me what I had ordered. Whilst you are the only fish and chip shop that offers gluten free this side of the city I won't be coming back. Thank you for ruining my dinner!
There are five more fish & chip shops within 500 metres of Captain Gummy's, but this is by far the busiest. The staff are very efficient, so the waiting is no more than strictly necessary.
I particularly enjoy their flake & chips, but their battered mussels are superlative.
Prices are reasonable, but the quality is what you go to Captain Gummy's for.
