Artists conceive, develop and present their work in an inspiring and creative atmosphere and sometimes their art becomes part of the building. In July the old Eveleigh rail yards is hosting a winter festival where love birds can skate hand-in-hand on an indoor ice rink. Really awesome venue for events. There's exhibitions and conferences here and the space is awesome. There's a café nearby, there's usually at least one exhibition and plenty of events are on. Sometimes parking is a little hard as it's mainly 2hr zones and you might have to park a fair way away if there's events.
I came here for the first time for a video game event with IGN Australia.
The venue which is quite large has that rail yard feel but with a modern refurbished look to it.
The drinks & food were free on the night (woo). However, the service from the staff was absolutely amazing!
The venue is also close to Redfern & Macdonaldtown station which is a bonus.
I can't wait for the next event at Carriageworks!
