Up visiting the cousin out at Wingham when me brain started tickin for some finger lickin chicken! Dropped in to Charcoal for a hot chook and a large chips. It was busy as expected at this time of year, it was like a sweaty sock in there however that's no excuse for what was to follow. I'd placed me order, then waited patiently by the fridge behind the other 5 customers, 10 minutes later the dinner staff appears with me chook, I asked "but where are me chips?" (politely of course), to which they snapped- "there not ready yet!!" I was embarrassed! I felt like a lesser human.. the crowd of onlookers gave me sympathetic looks too. It was like a pressure cooker in there, and that red faced bird was ready to explode at any innocent patron- what a disgrace. Anyway, on to the food. The saving grace for this review was their chips- renowned in the area, or so my cousin tells me. They are in a foiled bag which makes them soggy- but not in a bad way. Do you like overcooked dog ends, that are supposed to represent hot potato chips? Well look no further! this is where you can get them. Yeah this is true that's what I got when I ordered a quarter chicken and chips from this store. I have photographic proof and will never ever spend my hard earned money to buy take away from this store ever again.
