World famous chips!!
Have been eating here for 45 years. Service is always excellent, store is very clean and the 1/4 hot pack to die for. Chips cut fresh not frozen and the salt is very tasty. Great chicken and fresh salads Always busy so can wait up to 10 minutes sometimes but my oath the best chicken shop in Australia

Sadly my review is not very favourable of the chicken that was purchased with a small pasta salad purchased from the Main North Road, Blair Athol branch of Chicken Chef on Sunday. The half piece of chicken was over cooked, stringy, lacked moisture & taste, burnt stuffing and over all very poor indeed. Our special trips to this chicken shop in the past have been great but no more. Will have to find a chicken shop with great chicken closer to home.

I find the flattering reviews below bear no relevance to the chicken shop that I visited last night except that the service was appalling and it was way overpriced yes, that bit was true. In fact the opposite was true of the rest, the chicken was greasy the chips were greasy and way oversalted. The gravy was an inedible container of fatty gunk that tasted like lard. The person who served me also had the audacity to suggest to me a better way to order next time so that I could get a better deal. (A) They should have told me at the time I placed my order and (B) there will never be a next time.



Chicken Chef customers next time you fell the urge just go to a fast food, at least they operate from the same low standard pretty much every time.

It had been a while since I've come here, but I had a sudden craving for the hot chips here! I love the hot chips, I crave it every time! The rest of the items on the menu are tempting as well but I still find it a tad on the expensive side as a chicken shop. I ordered one fish and small chips, it was quite standard, plain, something I can get around the corner from home and it cost me over about $9. Really cant go pass there hot chips though. Service is good, pretty quick. Other than the pricing, would recommend definitely for their hot chips!

Ever since my first try of the Chicken Chef Chips, I crave. They're Hot Chips are the best, and if you have them with gravy that is delicious as well! Unfortunately though, I do find the place about pricey for your normal Chicken Shop, but I guess its worth it. They're menu board is quite extensive, they have a lot to choose from - from chips, chicken, hot snacks, cold snacks and salads etc.. its great!

The only negative I have was for the banana fritter I had the other week, that was a complete fail for me unfortunately because I was looking forward to it and its rare to see places sell banana fritters that i've been to anyways. Also the hotdog i had a couple weeks prior.. was boring, no flavor and overcooked. But besides that, I would definitly come back for the Chips and Chicken!
