So called 'chicken' here is processed, szchuan sauce is inedible. I was going to overlook the tired look of the place as chinese food is usually fantastic but the decor is an indication that the management dont give a d*mn about their food quality. Worse than 'Not Good' avoid it!!
My husband was set on having Chinese for dinner, but after reading the reviews for Chinamans hat I was really unsure! So glad we took the chance, because our food was fresh and tasty- true old style Chinese food! The fried rice was yum- not greasy at all, the scallops with ginger garlic and snow peas were fresh and tasty, and the fried chicken with sweet & sour sauce the best we have ever had!
I can definitely understand that if you were to eat in the restaraunts it would put you off because the decor is old and scungy- could really do with a facelift! My tip? Take away like we did.
This would have to be the worst restaurant we have ever been to and its a disgrace to the beautiful Sorrento district. As we entered the place we were grunted at by an angry looking staff behind the counter chewing gum with mouth open. No smiles or when hello, the only thing the staff said was "what do you want?"
We ordered our food and the other customers smiled and commented how gorgeous"fiesty" the staff was. Waiting for our order we noticed rotten food on the floors and how filthy the walls and counter were. The health department would have a field day with this place. The food was bland and tasteless and having seen how filthy the place was we were more concerned. The service got even worse with not even a 'thankyou' from the staff as we left, the staff just kept chewing with mouth open. Disgusting
WORST CHINESE FOOD EVER!!!!
The food had no flavor, the decor was tacky, the plates were faded and chipped, the service was almost non-existent. On top of all that, when we poured our tea there were bits of food in it (at least that's what we hoped it was!). The whole experience was horribly overpriced and just generally awful.
