It felt a bit more like a club than a surf club in some ways as the TAB area dominated the entrance. The next area was full of reserved signs on tables for those eating so it was more of a challenge to find somewhere suitable to sit with a hound one. We ended up on the balcony which lovely was cool. But the balcony told a great tale of surf club history.
Wandered in with my daughter and saw every table had a reserved sign on so had to find someone to ask where we could sit.
Order taken and delivered very quickly.
The garlic pizza starter was nice. My daughter thought the gravy on her schnitzel was pretty ordinary.
I requested pork belly but this wasn't available so ordered the lamb.
Nice, but cutlet bones burnt through, and pricey for a surf club.
Great views and good service.
Thank you for your feedback. Since you wrote this review we have built a brand new kitchen, employed some gun chefs and now do table service so we look forward to seeing you again soon so you can experience the all new Coolum Surf Club :)
We went there for dinner. I ordered Swordfish - which was nice, but at $26 I would have liked more on the plate. (Maybe some mashed potatoes or some boiled chats or something). My partner ordered some type of tomato-based pasta and it tasted very weird.
We were both still hungry afterwards so we ordered some chips, which took 20 minutes to arrive (at which stage we asked a waitress where they were as I noticed someone who ordered about 10 minutes after us had their meal). The chips came out as soon as I asked. The aioli wasn't nice, but the salt on the chips was delicious.
Given the choice of here or elsewhere, we would probably choose elsewhere next time.
Thank you for your review back in 2010. You will be pleased to know that since then we have built a brand new kitchen and hired some gun chefs to improve our meal offering. We also now offer table service so we look forward to your next visit :)
