We were so disappointed with our stay here. We had booked 'The Barracks' but on arrival we were told it was unavailable and we had been moved to 'Maxie's retreat' which is bunkhouse accommodation, sharing with other people and sharing bathroom facilities. All the families sharing with us were also not aware they would be sharing and one couple with a small baby felt so uncomfortable they spent the night in the room trying to keep their baby settled. The house and gardens are nice, but not worth the long drive on unsealed roads and the welcome was pretty basic. Nothing in fridge, no milk for a cuppa or even cold water. No special touches that made you feel at all welcome. I would not recommend this place and all the couples that stayed the night we were there said they also felt very gypped as to the style of the accommodation.
