Gave this Hotel another chance and picked a weekend which was far less windy and the manager actually explained they have tackled some of the draft and wind issues around the pool so the kids got to use the pool which was fantastic, though it has no shallow end for the little kids. It does make up for it with noodles and plenty of bean bags which requires adult supervision but is loads of fun!!

Located between Surfers main strip (Cavill Avenue) and Broadbeach its not quiet here or there you still have to drive to one or the other areas. Though there is a tram stop right out the front which is convienant.
The pool looks great, but the problem we found on this visit it was just way too windy, so the pool wasn't used during our 3 day stay. Did look good.
Otherwise staff were friendly and its about two blocks from the beach, bring your own shade or cover, as this part of the beach is very open.
The room was dated, though well kept. You do get more size as compensation.
The glass elevators on the outside are cool and fun.
I would recommend staying here for families, especially if you don't mind using the tram.
I recently stayed with hubby in the Gold Tower, Crown Plaza in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. We booked online as one of those mystery hotel deals & after you pay, an email comes through telling you which hotel you'll be staying at. We booked in on a Monday around 1pm. Sarah, at reception was so lovely and welcoming & asked if we were locals. We told her we were & had managed to get the kidlets minded to have two nights away together. Straight away, Sarah upgraded us to the 16th floor from the 11th. And just after we put our bags down in the room, she knocked and came in with a bottle of bubbles an an awesome platter full of cheeses, grapes, quince, dried fruits & more! Wow!! We were blown away by her hospitality. Our room was great with fabulous ocean views and a spa. We had a wonderful stay. Can't wait to go back!
