Beautiful setting with spotless amenities. There where few campers so we had plenty of room to move. Then came the draw backs... The a staff member rode past our (the only) campsite virtually on the hour, every daylight hour for two days. We felt under surveillance. We politely asked the management for this to stop as we felt our privacy was being invaded. Their response, "you have enough privacy". The next day, the 'ride-bys' reduced in number and the management decided to mow the lawn directly in front of our site. No other lawn, just that one lawn! We specifically went to this park as it is pet friendly. We agreed to the dog clean-up rules etc. We went for a swim and decided to take our dog. The dog was to be tied up away from the pool. We passed the same staff member, greeted them and was met with "do not take your dog inside the pool fence". No other words were spoken. They did not acknowledge our greeting and spoke in a manner which left us dumbfounded. ...read more
Hello Mr & Mrs Durchett,
Sad to see you didn't have a good time, I wish you would have come into the shop/office and seen me (I checked you in), or the girls as I mentioned at check in. But I will respond here.
About the issues you've mentioned: our caretaker, (70+, vietnam vet, who has been with us for 7 years), yes likes to ride his pushbike! I can assure he wouldn't be 'keeping an eye' on you, or anything like that. Your site was in a row of 5 on the corner. I know him as a helpfull guy to all the guests. He's especially good with sat-tv set ups and has helped many people over the years.
As for the mowing that was my father (we co-own the property). Mowing is part of keeping things tidy and would have taken only a few minutes to do the site next to you and also the other drive through sites & unpowered section on the other side of the amentiesblock. But I'm sorry it upset you.
Terrible service. Booked a cabin and hurried to get there by the early closing time of 6pm only to be told 'There aren't any, I'm sorry,' with no alternative offer and no mention of anywhere else we could stay in the region, when we were over an hour from the nearest major town. Dumbfounded by the poor management and rude response.
Very poor. Booked a cabin for the night, gave credit card details etc. After driving all the way, we were told that the park didn't have any room available and they had just been "too busy" to check. Not to mention they were pretty rude about it too. Half a star is generous.
Hello Lauren,
Sorry to see you found me rude.
I've been checking our system for you that day but we
had no booking in your name, nor a customer file in your name.
We where only referring you to a small townI (Ingham) half an hour away with some good motels & restaurants.
Regards,
Co-owner
Elisabeth
This is a great caravan park 60 klms north of Townsville. We had a wonderful time here. The owners are lovely people and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The park was very tidy and well spaced between vans. The amenities were exceptionally clean. There is a huge camp kitchen with all necessities as well as a lounge and tv. Plenty of room to walk the dog along the creek. We were totally impressed with this park and will definately be back.
