i have an old discovery(26) and davis knows all the little idiosyncrasies with my vehicle other mechanics would not. he keeps it going which makes me happy. he is busy coz he's the best but it is worth the wait. landrovers are his passion so i trust in his knowledge. so happy with his service. well done.
I took my 2003 Disco 2 V8 110,000km to these guys for a vehicle inspection traveling approx 1 hr, first off upon arriving poor customer service, then came a lengthy wait for inspection, then came the repair quote..OMG!! $625 rocker gaskets,$500 spark plug and leads,$645 oxy sensors,$400 front diff seal,claimed to have very bad oil leak in gearbox and transfer case $1300,rear diff boot $120,ECU fault check $550.Total $4140 for minor repairs also inspection cost $110. I left Davis Landys feeling like a dummy as they had clearly tried to rip me off and wasted alot of my time and money.Also they failed to pickup on a major exhaust manifold and flange gasket leak,rear exhaust flange leak and a blown out lower ball joint??? ...read more
Dear ROVER V8. After only noticing this review after three years, its not easy to defend. We are quite shocked at your response to our service. Rating of poor customer service is rather serious and we are disappointed that you did not call back or say something at the time.
However, time spent doing a report on any car does take time as our mechanics are in fact thorough. Parts quoted for your car are genuine Land Rover parts and not After market which can be cheaper. Not having the actual quote in front of us, renders us unable to defend ourselves.
We are happy to say that in the last six months we have follow up courtesy emails where we keep in touch with all customers to see how their service and vehicle is since their last visit.
