myself an 2 friends stopped in at 56 for coffee an cake on the 15nov we orderd coffee an cake each i of us got their coffee finished coffee an no cake other coffees turned up after what seemed like an age had to ask 3 times for the cakes was told they are coming not like they were busy only a few ppl on hand 2 staff seemed like it was all to much trouble not going back
Just PERFECT! Deciding to go and find out what Deck 56 would be like for a meal, we were impressed :-) It was my aunts 84th birthday so with a few family members we headed here for a relaxed lunch. Our waitress was just so sweet and patient, she would pop back and check if anyone wanted anything, and to take our order, plates were cleared away quickly and we were offered dessert and tea and coffee when everyone at the table had finished eating. The food was lovely, excellent value for the money and well presented. I can say the Chicken Filo with sun dried tomatoes and basil with chips and salad was delicious! Everyone else loved their fish and chips with salad and hubby had a quiche. The cake display was amazing and the Oreo Cheesecake was divine. They are fully licensed so you can enjoy a beer, wine, cocktail etc with your meal. We have been telling all our friends and will definitely be back!
Great little place and a bit *out of the way* which means it's not always crowded. Perfectly positioned across from the lake you can sit and watch the water, enjoy the cool breeze and forget about everything for a while. The staff are very nice, quite chatty and friendly and the cappuccino and hot chocolates are great! The food and variety is great and the prices are fair. The atmosphere is lovely and you can eat inside or outside.
