What's less than useless? The Consumer Protection part of the WA Dept of Commerce. I asked them to assist with a dispute over airline tickets for cancelled and re-booked flights with Malaysian Airlines and one of their Australian online agents. They said all the right things but ended up coming back after several weeks with zero outcome. They repeated back to me the nonsense claims by the airlines and agent that I'd asked for the refund after the event (not true, I have the emails to prove I'd tried to talk to them well in advance) and that the fares fluctuated. True but I provided evidence that the prices were much lower at the time they were re-issued than when I originally booked them. Despite being armed with a lot of documentary evidence of my claim the young lady from Consumer Protection was totally out of her depth in dealing on our behalf and just believed what she was told by Malaysian. A waste of time and taxpayers money.
