Di Stasio Cafe
Cross your fingers that owner Ronnie Di Stasio is in the house when you dine at his place. Passionate about lots of things and in particular eating at his own restaurant, Ronnie is a true character Melburnians know and out-of-towners should get to know. Expect simple rustic Italian dishes, delish wine and an intimate dining room full of lively conversation animated by hand gestures. The express lunch special will give you a ‘recession rejection’ sample of perhaps our city’s best Italian restaurant.

Di Stasio is amazing! It was as good if not better than the last time I came! The atmosphere is intimate (there's not much space so it's possibly not the best place for a private conversation) Staff is fantastic and very friendly. You feel as if you have come to a friend's place for dinner ( a sophisticated master-chef-type-friend) Every dish was cooked to perfection!
One of Melbourne, if not Australia's, best Italian restaurants. The service is always good (and nice to see the same friendly wait staff after years of dining here), the matridi so welcoming and the food as you expect - perfectly cooked, great produce, all served with a level of style most restaurants only dream of.
Only drama we had recently was a large table behind us was having their Christmas party and it was very noisy - dont go expecting a quiet intimate dinner, it's a relatively small space but that makes it even more entertaining.
