Dr C L Moey

There are five or so different doctors that my family and I have seen at this surgery and all of them have a nice warm demeanour and are conscious of making waiting periods as short as possible. I remember the days when they were one of the only bulk billing clinics in the area, but now all the clinics in Blackwood charge a gap, obviously except for children and seniors. Blackwood Young St charges a reasonable gap fee which is less than most of the other clinics in the area.

The facilities are also quite good, there's a nutritionist and a psychologist, and it's even situated next to the local MP so you can go next door and complain about things like youths doing graffiti on your fence ... Dr Moey has significant experience, however I have to note few negative things:
- Dr Moey is always busy and sometimes does not communicate with patients clearly that recently costed me more time to spend on medical tests;
- Dr Moey and his staff do not respect time of their patients and I always have been waiting 20-30min after the time of appointment. This situation has been lasting for years and there is no improvement;
- Dr Moey and his staff never apologize or try to resolve problems. When yesterday (30 Jan. 2015) I asked his reception staff if staff can notify me in advance about delays. Answer was that the payment is not enough so I can not count on a quality service. If I don't like this, I can choose another doctor. And this is what I'm going to do. May be Dr Moey is a good doctor, but his business model is appalling.

Dr Moey has been my Dr for 30 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else even though I now live out of the district. More recently the other Dr's that make up the practice are equally professional. The front office staff are great. Maggie is delightful and always helpful. Waiting time has increased but not excessive delays. I would highly recommend this practice.

The doctors at this clinic are very professional, thorough and friendly. I feel very comfortable with the doctors at this clinic. Now that there is a pathology clinic attached, it is convenient if you need a blood test done. The reception staff are very pleasant, except for a woman named Maggie who for some reason is always very rude and impatient to me and to others. Her telephone and in-person manner is very rude and she treats patients as though they are inconveniencing her by trying to make an appointment. It's unfortunate as all the other staff are so lovely and it feels like a very 'family friendly' clinic.

There are no other problems, except that you almost always have to wait at least 10 minutes past your appointment time, some times a great deal more, but this is not that big of a deal and it is an understandable issue.
