Eye Specialist and Ophthalmic SurgeonDr Yeung is a general ophthalmologist with subspecialty interests in cornea, external diseases, cataract and refractive surgery. His areas of clinical expertise include diagnosis and treatment of corneal, ocular surface and anterior segment diseases, glaucoma, medical retinal diseases, cataract and refractive surgery. He is experienced in performing complex cataract surgery, corneal and ocular surface (pterygium) surgery, collagen cross-linking, laser vision correction surgery, intraocular injection, and retinal laser treatment.
Dr Yeung graduated in medicine and surgery from the University of Western Australia, and he was awarded with a Master degree in corneal immunology at the same institution. Following the completion of his ophthalmology training under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), he undertook a cornea, external diseases, anterior segment and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute in Canada.
Dr Yeung is actively involved in both clinical and scientific research, and he regularly presents at major international and Australian conferences including the World Cornea Congress, the RANZCO annual scientific congress, the annual meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS). In addition, he has published in many major international peer-reviewed journals, and he has coauthored a textbook chapter in ocular immunology. Dr Yeung is a current member of AAO, ASCRS, International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), Asia Cornea Society, Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia and the Cornea Society.
