Drs @ Morningside

It’s a Saturday morning and I made my appointment during the week. I’ve now been waiting for over 20minutes. Not impressed.

Really good doctors that run on time most of the time. Dont miss the turn off wynnum road though cause its really annoying to turn around.

I had my first visit with Dr. Jane yesterday and it will be my last. Her brusque manner was slightly off-putting, but it was her completely incorrect and offensive wording that has me annoyed. I'm 37 years old - she asked me if I was thinking about children, to which I responded I wasn't sure - her exact words were "Good, don't, because you're too old for it now". I actually thought she was joking at first. When she pulled out a chart that showed me how fertility decreases as women get older, and pointed out my age on that chart, I realised she wasn't kidding. I found it offensive. She then said I can "still adopt". Besides being completely incorrect (I'm surrounded by women at work who are late 30's, early 40's who have babies and toddlers, all naturally, so it's not impossible), the delivery was awful. I have been a patient at the morningside family medical centre for nearly 4 years. I have had the most professional and friendly consultations with all the doctors at the practice. I think some of these reviewers might have the wrong medical centre and be thinking of the bulk billing one at woolworth's complex (I have been there before and would never go back). I am a strong believer of you get what you pay for, and I don't mind paying $70 to see a doctor who will listen to me and treat me like a human rather than a quik medicare claim. I would highly recommend this medical centre to anyone who wants a doctor who cares.

I have been attending this surgery for my pregnancy, in the past 6 - 8 months, after moving to the area. I've found the Medical Practitioners here to be of a reasonable standard, and previously had no cause for complaint.

Unfortunately, my recent experience has changed this opinion.
