Dumplings Plus

We were just here yesterday; its been quite some time since Ive been back here. Early dinner, so getting a seat was freely available. We were seated directly next to the glass window which was a bonus for my little one, as she found it entertaining watching the women prepares the dumplings; they also found her amusing constantly waving and blowing kisses to them. We ordered the pan friend dumplings and the steam pork dumpling, both prepared quite well, which was expected as Ive been here on so many occasions. The port fried came out within just minutes from ordering, so they must have been well prepared for some time. The service was efficient, no complains there. As there werent many diners at this time, interesting to always watch how quick the waitresses would attend to a table once a customer leaves to clean up and prepare for the next diner.

The dumplings here are just ok. Given the large selection that you could be getting across Melbourne CBD, it could be more competitive. The handpulled noodles were pretty good however, Id say the chilli dumplings are probably the best thing on the menu. The prices are very good and consistent with other dumpling restaurants. It gets very busy here on a Friday night and the service is efficient and brisk.

Veggie dumplings are good, pork belly noodle soup wasn't. Fine service. Budget friendly, quite a nice place too.

Ive returned to this restaurant on numerous occasions either for work lunches, catch up with friends, or simply a craving for dumplings. There are dining both downstairs and upstairs, and even seatings right at the back room upstairs. Its always busy regardless of time or day of the week. Those dining downstairs are able to see directly through the glass window the women preparing the dumplings freshly made and placed onto the trays. The service has always been efficient and quick here; only on a few occasions in which the restaurants have been rather full we had to wait, but never longer than 10 minutes. Absolute favourite here are the pan fried pork dumplings and the steam ones, but fried still much better, another personal favourite here are the North China Style Noodle with Minced Pork & Bean Sauce. The staff take care to remember their regulars, the food is always served extremely quickly and tastes excellent. Some of the best dumplings in Melbourne. Good work !
