Woof, not interested in coming back. Looks nice from the outside but the inside is a mess, and looks very cheap. Appreciate the interesting summerberry cider option, but we ordered a jug thinking it would be on tap, and the bartender just emptied two bottles into the jug. Just leave it in the bottles! (Cider also turned out to be not very good)
This is one of those bars that opens really early as a restaurant and then around 4:00 pm suddenly converts into a bar. In the afternoon this place becomes incredibly crowded, but early in the morning, before making my way to work, it is always quite empty, which means that I can sit on one of their balconies with a cup of tea and watch the people of Melbourne making their way to work. I've always liked the place since the staff have always been pleasant, though they do get run off their feet during the evening. They also have incredibly cheap food, as well as a lunch special where you get a free drink with your order. The servings are quite decent as well, making this place a great place for dinning on a budget. The only reason I don't come here as much as I used to (they have the cheapest coffee in Melbourne by the way, but it's not the best) is because I've made a habit of exploring the multitude of other places for a morning cup of tea.
This place has always been one of my favourite bars. It is a chilled and relaxing venue for afterwork drinks and get-togethers. It seems as though happy hour is on all day with the $10 jugs and two for one basic drinks until 11pm. The food is reasonably priced with a large range of your average pub foods. What gives it the little extra edge, is the superb and friendly service by Johnny, the bar manager. Service with a smile. During the weekdays, only the downstairs bar is opened, but on Friday and Saturday nights, the upstair bar with bright neon lights and good music is accessible. They even have cheap cocktail jugs.
