Derek has been working on prestige vehicles since 1982. Having completed his apprenticeship in Ireland he has worked in the UK with race teams in F3 and specialist VW/Audi workshops. Since coming to Australia in 1988 he has specialised in VW/Audi and BMW. With an 8 year interlude in racing in Australia, European Autotech opened in 2001.
A winner of many awards for the quality of his work, Derek has proven his dedication and skills in the motor industry. Derek has also demonstrated his attention to detail and engineering capabilities in the highly competitive motor racing environment, where he enjoyed success as chief engineer on Formula 3 cars.

Absolutely avoid Derek at all costs. Went in for diagnostics on our A4 to clear EPC code and was promised a new thrust sensor would fix the problem. $462 dollars later and go to start car and the problem still exists, absolutely nothing solved and Im several hundred dollars poorer. Atrocious customer service, he didnt even offer any refund on the amount paid claiming that it was probably an electrical issue and would need to do more tests until they found the problem. Requested to at least see the fault codes and he wouldnt provide them claiming I hadnt paid for them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Things got out of hand and he threatened to carry me off the premises as I wouldnt leave without the codes but wouldnt tell me where my car was parked. If you want a guy to throw parts at a problem without having a good think about whats causing the issues then see Derek, I hope you have a bit of money. Cameron seems like a nice bloke.
