In the course of my job I needed to ring someone at the Examiner yesterday morning. I was told the person I needed to speak to was out of the office, but I could either ring his mobile or he could be given a message. As it was not urgent I chose to leave a message. Having heard nothing for hours, I rang to find out, that as he had not returned to the office, the receptionist had not yet given him my message. Great communication for a company that makes its money from communicating.
I rang the gentleman's mobile only to find him rude and arrogant, and quite unable to understand that if HE had communicated with our office earlier, then his poor decision making would not have impacted negatively with a client.
All in all for a company that is in the business of communicating with their readers, they seem to struggle with the concept of communication and prodessionalism.
