Exel Car Rental

This week I rented a little car from Exel just for 2 days while my car was being repaired. I'd read some very mixed reviews about them, so am pleased to post a note confirming that the rental went fine, no hiccups, no issues, and the Exel representative (Abdul) was very efficient, pleasant and helpful.
The car was not new (had done almost 100,000km), and did have a few knocks and marks on it, which I carefully photographed before I got in and took the car away - I always do this as a precaution anyway. But once in the car, everything worked OK, and I have absolutely no complaints. When I returned it, there were no issues about the pre-existing marks and damage, and the paperwork was all completed in less than 5 mins.

I have used rental van a lot, This company got the best van with affordable prices with generous Km allowances. The Vans are new, automatic and clean favorable for all the trade work . The booking/handing in is very efficient and friendly. Never heard of them before but I would highly recommend them.

Really disappointed, I was rented an unroadworthy car to drive on the M1 and Pacific Highway. The brake fail light kept flashing - not what you want to see driving 100km/h in heavy traffic. The brakes were terrible, we had to stop suddenly on the highway and I was so certain we were headed for the back of the vehicle in front of us. The cv joint kept tinkering turning corners and it sounded like it had a hole in the muffler. At $200+ for the weekend I expected a safe, well maintained car. I mentioned all of this upon return of the car and it was met with a very unconcerned response and no offer of a discount or refund for putting myself and others in danger, just wanted to know that the tank was full and sayonara! Be careful if you do rent a car here.
